| HOUSE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | | 3 |
| Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of
Alfred P. | | 4 |
| Pedersen of Antioch, who passed away on May 14, 2010; and
| | 5 |
| WHEREAS, Alfred Pedersen was a lifelong resident of | | 6 |
| Antioch; he was the son of the late Alfred J. and Mary Griffin | | 7 |
| Pedersen; he married Florence Prince on June 3, 1944, at St. | | 8 |
| Peter Church in Antioch; and
| | 9 |
| WHEREAS, Alfred Pedersen started in the farm machinery | | 10 |
| business with his father in 1936; in 1946, he was joined by his | | 11 |
| brother, Bob; in 1949, they added a GMC Truck Dealership; he | | 12 |
| also purchased and sold several farms in his area for many | | 13 |
| years; and
| | 14 |
| WHEREAS, Alfred Pedersen was an active member of several | | 15 |
| organizations, including the Antioch Lions Club, the Antioch | | 16 |
| Rotary Club, the Lake County Farm Bureau, the Lake County | | 17 |
| Republican Club, and the Ivanhoe Country Club; he was also a | | 18 |
| former member of the board of directors of the First National | | 19 |
| Bank in Antioch; and

| WHEREAS, Alfred Pedersen was preceded in death by his | | 21 |
| parents; his brother, Robert; and his sisters, Helen Nelson, |

| Rose McCord, and Grace Johnson; and

| WHEREAS, Alfred Pedersen is survived by his wife of nearly | | 3 |
| 66 years, Florence; his sons, Alfred P. (Judy) Pedersen Jr., | | 4 |
| Lloyd Pedersen, Dean (Linda) Pedersen, Dale (Dawn) Pedersen, | | 5 |
| and Brian (Mary) Pedersen; his sisters, Alice Dunkin, Edna | | 6 |
| (William) Barr, and Lena Dalgaard; his grandchildren, Tammi | | 7 |
| (Mark) Lyles, Dean A. (Michelle) Pedersen Jr., Carol (Dan) | | 8 |
| Murin, Jeannine Pedersen, Donald Pedersen, Breanna Pedersen, | | 9 |
| Connie Smith, Shannon Pedersen, and Christina Pedersen; and his | | 10 |
| great-grandchildren, Austin and Daylon Lyles, Abigail and | | 11 |
| Benjamin Pedersen, Damian and Peyton Pedersen, Dane, Isabella, | | 12 |
| and Marcus Murin, and Ava Guzman; therefore, be it
| | 13 |
| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | | 14 |
| NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we | | 15 |
| mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Alfred | | 16 |
| P. Pedersen; and be it further
| | 17 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | | 18 |
| presented to the family of Alfred Pedersen as an expression of | | 19 |
| our sympathy.
