HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, On October 30, 2010, the Hellenic Bar Association of Illinois will host its 60th Annual Installation Dinner Dance and Scholarship Ball; and

WHEREAS, The purposes and objectives of the Association are to establish and maintain the honor and dignity of the profession of the law and to promote the general welfare of the member thereof; to improve the public understanding of the role of Hellenism in the law; to cultivate social relationships among its members; to increase the usefulness of the legal profession in promoting the due administration of justice and the public good; and to promote the interests of the public and advocate for the legal rights of the people of the United States; and

WHEREAS, The mission of the Association is to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the administration of justice in the State of Illinois and the United States of America; increase members' effectiveness and efficiency in the practice of law; ensure that bench and bar adhere to acceptable professional and legal standards; improve public understanding of the functions and importance of our legal and constitutional system and encourage respect therefor; increase public understanding and respect for the legal profession; and increase public understanding of the role of Hellenism in the law; and

WHEREAS, Officers, directors, members, and their families and friends of the Hellenic Bar Association of Illinois will join together for this annual event; and

WHEREAS, The members of the Hellenic Bar Association of Illinois are proud of the Association's longevity and commitment to the Greek and legal communities; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate the Hellenic Bar Association of Illinois on its 60th Annual Installation Dinner Dance and Scholarship Ball; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Harry J. Fournier, President of the Hellenic Bar Association of Illinois as an expression of our respect and esteem and with best wishes.
