HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives wish to thank Olga Iniguez for her many years
4of dedicated service to the citizens of the State of Illinois
5and her great dedication to the cause of equal opportunities
6for all; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Olga Iniguez has been employed with the State of
8Illinois for over 32 years; she currently works for the
9Illinois Department of Central Management Services, where she
10has held a variety of titles, including Manager of the Chicago
11and Rockford Examining and Counseling offices; she has also
12authored several State studies and reports; and
 
13    WHEREAS, In addition to her service at CMS, Olga Iniguez
14she was employed at the Illinois Department of Human Rights for
155 years; during her tenure at Human Rights, she developed the
16first Writing Skills assessment for new employees, implemented
17the first written civil service test for Human Rights
18Investigators, wrote and developed training for new
19investigators, and was instrumental in the development of the
20Human Rights Institute for Training and Development; and
 
21    WHEREAS, Olga Iniguez served on the Governor's New
22Americans Immigrant Interagency Task Force and assisted the

1group to develop policies to implement standardized bilingual
2pay procedures for all State agencies; and
 
3    WHEREAS, In June of 2006, Olga Iniguez was appointed to
4serve as the first State Hispanic Employment Plan Manager; in
5August of 2007, she was promoted to the position of Statewide
6Diversity Enrichment Program Manager; she also undertook
7responsibility for developing the State's African American
8Employment Plan through the development of an annual structured
9plan that assists State agencies in meeting their affirmative
10action goals; she was also instrumental in the creation of the
11State's first Hispanic Employment Plan in 1987; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Olga Iniguez has been a member of numerous
13community organizations, including the Board of Directors for
14SER Jobs for Progress, the League of United Latin American
15Citizens, the Board of Directors for the American G.I. Forum of
16Illinois Veterans Outreach Program, the U.S. Selection
17Committee for the President's Management Internship Program,
18and the American GI Forum; she was also a co-founder of the
19Illinois Association of Hispanic State Employees and served on
20the association's first Board of Directors; and
 
21    WHEREAS, Olga Iniguez has been the recipient of numerous
22recognitions for her service to her community, including the
23Lifetime Achievement Award from IAHSE and the American GI Forum

1Humanitarian Award; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Olga Iniguez serves as a model of hard work,
3integrity, and dedication for the people of the State of
4Illinois; therefore, be it
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
6NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
7thank Olga Iniguez for her many years of dedicated service to
8the citizens of the State of Illinois and wish her continued
9success and happiness in the future; and be it further
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11presented to Olga Iniguez as a symbol of our esteem and
12respect.
