HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Bill
4Morris of West Frankfort, who passed away on October 17, 2010;
5and
 
6    WHEREAS, Bill Morris was born on February 12, 1927, in West
7Frankfort; his parents were Joe and Lillie (Griffith) Kee
8Morris; he married Pat (Avery) Morris on March 10, 1950, in
9West Frankfort; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Bill Morris served his country with pride and
11distinction as a member of the United States Navy; he was a
12member of American Legion Post 1961 of Orient; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Bill Morris retired after many years of service as
14a letter carrier with the United States Postal Service; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Bill Morris was very active in many community and
16county activities; he was a member of Franklin County Country
17Club and a former board member of the Frankfort Unit District
18168 School Board; he served on the Franklin County Sheriff's
19Department Merit Board and was a former member of the Franklin
20County Board and the Denning Cemetery Board; he was also an
21active member of the Redbird Boosters Club, the West Frankfort

1Masonic Lodge 567, where he was also a past master, and the
2Shriners; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Bill Morris was preceded in death by his parents;
4his wife; and his brother, Kenneth Morris; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Bill Morris is survived by his son, Greg and his
6wife, LaVeme Morris; his daughters, Terri Morris and Cindy Jo
7and her husband, Allan Knopf; his 7 grandchildren; his 13
8great-grandchildren; his sister, Barbara Benns; and his many
9nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
11NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
12mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Bill
13Morris; and be it further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of Bill Morris as an expression of our
16sympathy.
