HOUSE RESOLUTION
2     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
3 NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that a
4 commission is created consisting of the membership of the
5 Latino Caucus; and be it further
 
6     RESOLVED, That the Commission on Latinos with Disabilities
7 shall study and recommend to the General Assembly its findings
8 on the state of Latinos with disabilities residing in Illinois
9 concerning, at a minimum but not limited to, the following
10 areas: program and services, housing, health, education,
11 employment, and recreation; and be it further
 
12     RESOLVED, That the Commission shall consider all of the
13 following factors in its assessments and recommendations:
14 strategies to broaden access to programs and services,
15 mechanisms to ensure community and stakeholder input,
16 mechanisms for data collection and tracking that integrate data
17 across programs and funding streams, and other factors that the
18 Commission deems important to the quality of life of Latinos
19 with disabilities; and be it further
 
20     RESOLVED, That the Commission shall work directly with the
21 Department on Aging, the Department of Children and Family
22 Services, the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity,
23 the Department of Corrections, the Department of Human

1 Services, the Department of Public Aid, the Department of
2 Public Health, the Department of Transportation, the
3 Department of Employment Security, and others to gather the
4 necessary information for their report to the General Assembly;
5 and be it further
 
6     RESOLVED, That the Commission shall hold public hearings to
7 gather information; and be it further
 
8     RESOLVED, That the Commission shall designate a chairman
9 from among its number, shall meet as frequently as necessary at
10 the call of the chair, and shall report its findings to the
11 General Assembly as expeditiously as possible; and be it
12 further
 
13     RESOLVED, That Commission members shall receive no
14 compensation but shall be reimbursed for expenses incurred in
15 the performance of their duties from funds appropriated for
16 that purpose; and be it further
 
17     RESOLVED, That no later than June 1, 2010, the Commission
18 shall issue a written report on its findings and
19 recommendations to the General Assembly and the Governor;
20 follow-up reports shall be issued as necessary; and be it
21 further

1     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
2 delivered to the Governor.
