HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate the men and women of Itasca Fire Protection District No. 1 as they celebrate the 100th anniversary of the District; and

WHEREAS, The District is comprised of a board of trustees, a board of fire commissioners, the fire chief, assistant fire chief, three fire lieutenants, 24 full-time firefighters and paramedics, eleven paid on-call firefighters, an administrative assistant, a part-time secretary, and a chaplain; and

WHEREAS, The District covers a 6.5 square mile area and includes portions of Itasca, Addison, and Wood Dale, as well as unincorporated areas; and

WHEREAS, The District staffs an engine, an advanced life support ambulance, and an aerial truck or tower; it also maintains a reserve rescue squad, a reserve advanced life support ambulance; and

WHEREAS, The District receives just under 2,000 EMS and fire calls a year; and

WHEREAS, The fire station is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and 365 days a year and is ready to respond to any emergency that may arise; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate the men and women of Itasca Fire Protection District No. 1 on this centennial celebration and thank them for their hard work and dedication to the community; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the men and women of Itasca Fire Protection District No. 1 as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
