HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are pleased to congratulate Richard Moore on
4 the occasion of his retirement as a United States Department of
5 Veterans Affairs police officer; and
 
6     WHEREAS, Richard Moore attended Northeastern University,
7 where he earned his bachelor's degree in criminal justice; and
 
8     WHEREAS, Richard Moore has had a long and distinguished
9 career in law enforcement; he was employed by the United States
10 Department of Veterans Affairs as a police officer from
11 December of 1983 to May of 1989; after leaving the federal
12 government, he was hired by the Illinois Department of
13 Corrections to serve as a parole officer; after retiring from
14 IDOC, he returned to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs,
15 where he served as a police officer from February of 2003 until
16 his retirement in 2009; he has also served with the Chicago
17 Police Department, the Cook County Probation Department, and
18 the United States Air Force Military Police; and
 
19     WHEREAS, Richard Moore was formerly employed with the
20 Chicago Transit Authority as a supervisor/line instructor and
21 bus operator; he was also employed with the Chicago Board of
22 Education as a teacher; and

1     WHEREAS, Richard Moore will celebrate his retirement with a
2 special retirement celebration on October 17, 2009 at the
3 University Park Golf Course/Country Club in University Park;
4 therefore, be it
 
5     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
6 NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
7 congratulate Richard Moore on the occasion of his retirement
8 and wish him continued success and happiness in the future; and
9 be it further
 
10     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11 presented to Richard Moore as a symbol of our esteem and
12 respect.
