HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to honor Sharon Smith for her many years of service with the Frisbie Senior Center in Des Plaines; and

WHEREAS, Sharon Smith served as Director of the Frisbie Senior Center in Des Plaines for 17 years, beginning in 1993; and

WHEREAS, During her tenure at the Frisbie Senior Center, Sharon Smith was responsible for numerous improvements and additions to the center, including the creation of the Senior Advisory Council, the balancing of the center's budget, the creation of numerous sponsorships for many of the center's programs, increases in the center's membership, the overhaul of the center's senior bulletin, and the streamlining of numerous services and activities; and

WHEREAS, Sharon Smith will be remembered fondly by the employees and patrons of the Frisbie Senior Center for her cleverness and wit, as well as her inspired leadership and genuine compassion for the needs of the center's many visitors; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we honor Sharon Smith for her many years of service with the Frisbie Senior Center and wish her continued success and happiness in the future; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Sharon Smith as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
