HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate Mary Bricker for her years of service as president of the Iroquois County Republican Women's Club; and

WHEREAS, She has served as president for 50 years and is a current board member; she has been a member of the Women's Club since she moved to Watseka; and

WHEREAS, She previously served as president from 1953 to 1056 and again from 1962 until November 23, 2009; and

WHEREAS, Mary was a teacher at Watseka High School from 1945 to 1980, retiring after 36 years of serving as an educator; her late husband, Stanley, was an Illinois State Policeman; and

WHEREAS, Mary also served as a precinct committeeperson for Iroquois County and currently serves as vice-president on the Watseka Park District Board, where she served as secretary and president previously; and

WHEREAS, In addition, she serves on the board of Harbor House, an organization that helps battered women; she serves on the board for Illiani Connection, a University of Illinois board that deals with legislation; and she served on the State Police Merit Board in Springfield for two years; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Mary Bricker for her hard work and dedication to the Iroquois County Republican Women's Club; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Mary Bricker as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
