HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate O'Fallon High School senior Keith Surber on winning the Class 3A State title in wrestling on February 20, 2010; and

WHEREAS, Keith Surber dominated (New Lenox) Providence's Edwin Cooper 15-4 in the Class 3A 130-pound State title match, held on Saturday, February 20, 2010 in the Assembly Hall at the University of Illinois-Champaign; and

WHEREAS, Keith Surber ended his Panthers career with a four-year mark of 181 wins, 9 losses, and his senior season with a record of 51 wins and one loss, and joins an impressive group of four-time State tournament medal winners from the metro-east area; and

WHEREAS, He placed fifth, third, third, and first in his State career; he became the first State wrestling champion in O'Fallon High School history; and

WHEREAS, He is ranked Number One in the State of Illinois in the 130-pound weight class; and

WHEREAS, His coach is Glenn Exton; Keith Surber has been recruited to wrestle for the University of Nebraska in his future college career; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Keith Surber and wish him the best in his future endeavors; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Keith Surber as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
