SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Thelma June Matson of Lincoln, who passed
4away on November 28, 2010; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Thelma Matson was born on June 4, 1933, at
6Burtonview; she was the daughter of Frederick and Wilhelmina
7Engelhorn Wiggers, Sr.; she married John William Matson on
8November 22, 1953, in Lincoln; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Thelma Matson served as head cook at Chester-East
10Lincoln School and St. Clara's Manor in dietary until her
11retirement; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Thelma Matson was a member of First United
13Methodist Church of Lincoln and the VFW Auxiliary; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Thelma Matson was preceded in death by her
15parents; her sisters, Mildred Johnson and Eileen; and her
16brothers, Frederick Jr., Kendall, and Marvin Wiggers; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Thelma Matson is survived by her husband; her
18sons, Roger (Julie) Matson, Rodney (Tammy) Matson, and Randy
19(Ann) Matson; her daughters, Pamela (Rex) Mallekoote, Valerie
20(Dave) Huffman, and Rebecca (Mike) Geskey; her brother, Milton

1Wiggers; her sister, Katharina Goldhammer; her 14
2grandchildren; and her 14 great grandchildren; therefore, be it
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL
4ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
5her family and friends, the passing of Thelma June Matson; and
6be it further
 
7    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
8presented to the family of Thelma Matson as an expression of
9our sympathy.
