SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Geraldine M. Deck of Dorsey, who passed away on February 18, 2010; and

WHEREAS, She was born on July 24, 1926, in St. Louis, the daughter of Vincent and Adrian M. (Vincent) Stirnaman; she married Richard Deck on November 23, 1946, in Alton; and

WHEREAS, She was a nurse's aide at Olin Corp. for more than 20 years; she was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, then moved her membership to St. Matthews Catholic Church, and last to St. Mary's Catholic Church in Alton; and

WHEREAS, Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Gary Deck; and one grandson; and

WHEREAS, Geraldine Deck is survived by her children and their spouses, Richard and Susie Deck, Howard and Karen Deck, Arthur and Barbara Deck, Joyce and Don Baker, Marianne and David Bone, Barbara and Terry Hutslar, and Paula and Dane Walkington; her 15 grandchildren; her 11 great-grandchildren; her two brothers and a sister-in-law, Glennon Stirnaman, James Stirnaman, and a sister and brother-in-law, Juanita and Charles Hoffman; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with her family and friends, the passing of Geraldine Deck; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Geraldine Deck as a symbol of our sincere sympathy.
