SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of John Maurice Gancer of River Forest, who passed away on February 28, 2010; and

WHEREAS, John Gancer was a graduate of St. Edmund Grammar School, Oak Park River Forest High School, Boston College, and received an M.B.A. from Indiana University; and

WHEREAS, He was a real estate developer and agent with Gagliardo Realty in River Forest; and

WHEREAS, John lived life with gusto and had many many great friends and dance partners; he accomplished much in his 50 years and left a lasting legacy among those who knew him; and

WHEREAS, John Gancer was the beloved husband of 23 years to Sue (Sullivan); the loving son to Donald Gancer (and the late Mary Jane); he was a fantastic father to Mary Ann, Jack, Henry, and Abby; he was the dearest older brother to Peter (Kate), Julie Downey, Susie (Bill) Lappe, and Stephen (Laura); and he was a devoted uncle to 15 nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of John Gancer; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of John Gancer as a symbol of our sincere sympathy.
