SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3 learn of the death of Wilma D. Reedy of Lovington, who passed
4 away on March 21, 2010; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Wilma Reedy was born on July 2, 1922, in Macon;
6 she was the daughter of William W. and Nona B. March Newsham;
7 she married Thomas L. Reedy on October 18, 1947, in
8 Springfield; and
 
9     WHEREAS, Wilma Reedy was employed with the Moultrie County
10 Clerk's Office for many years until her retirement; and
 
11     WHEREAS, Wilma Reedy was a member of St. Isidore's Catholic
12 Church in Bethany, the Moultrie County Republican Women Club,
13 and the Illinois Federation of Republican Women Round Table;
14 she was also a past president of the Illinois and National
15 Shorthorn Lassie Associations and was named Lassie of the Year
16 in 1967; and
 
17     WHEREAS, Wilma Reedy enjoyed dancing, bowling, and playing
18 bridge; she played cards with her club for over 55 years; and
 
19     WHEREAS, Wilma Reedy was preceded in death by her parents;
20 her husband; and her sisters, Lois Shepherd and Olive White

1 Shepherd; and
 
2     WHEREAS, Wilma Reedy is survived by her children, Linda
3 (David) McCabe, Dan (Adele) Reedy, and Donna (Barry) Johnson;
4 her grandchildren, Martne McCoy, Tom Reedy, Nicole Berger, Rich
5 McCabe, Ryan McCabe, Emily Johnson, Shannon Reedy, and Luke
6 Johnson; her 5 great grandchildren; her brother, Harold
7 Newsham; and her brother-in-law, William Reedy; therefore, be
8 it
 
9     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL
10 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
11 her family and friends, the passing of Wilma Reedy; and be it
12 further
 
13     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14 presented to the family of Wilma Reedy as an expression of our
15 sympathy.
