SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Wilma D. Reedy of Lovington, who passed away on March 21, 2010; and

WHEREAS, Wilma Reedy was born on July 2, 1922, in Macon; she was the daughter of William W. and Nona B. March Newsham; she married Thomas L. Reedy on October 18, 1947, in Springfield; and

WHEREAS, Wilma Reedy was employed with the Moultrie County Clerk's Office for many years until her retirement; and

WHEREAS, Wilma Reedy was a member of St. Isidore's Catholic Church in Bethany, the Moultrie County Republican Women Club, and the Illinois Federation of Republican Women Round Table; she was also a past president of the Illinois and National Shorthorn Lassie Associations and was named Lassie of the Year in 1967; and

WHEREAS, Wilma Reedy enjoyed dancing, bowling, and playing bridge; she played cards with her club for over 55 years; and

WHEREAS, Wilma Reedy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and her sisters, Lois Shepherd and Olive White Shepherd; and

WHEREAS, Wilma Reedy is survived by her children, Linda (David) McCabe, Dan (Adele) Reedy, and Donna (Barry) Johnson; her grandchildren, Martne McCoy, Tom Reedy, Nicole Berger, Rich McCabe, Ryan McCabe, Emily Johnson, Shannon Reedy, and Luke Johnson; her 5 great grandchildren; her brother, Harold Newsham; and her brother-in-law, William Reedy; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with her family and friends, the passing of Wilma Reedy; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Wilma Reedy as an expression of our sympathy.
