SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Harold J. Cross of Harvard, who passed away on March 31, 2010; and

WHEREAS, Harold J. Cross was born August. 29, 1930, in Harvard, to Harold and Grace (Twell) Cross; on July 16, 1951, he married Lydia Nestele in Germany; and

WHEREAS, He was a United States Army Air Force veteran; he worked as an analyzer for Admiral Corporation for 28 years; he later worked for KKO in Capron for five years and the McHenry County Sheriff's Department for 8.5 years; and

WHEREAS, He belonged to the Veterans of Foreign Wars and enjoyed repairing lawn mowers and snow blowers, bird watching, fishing, hunting, the outdoors, shopping, and spending time with family and friends; and

WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his father; and

WHEREAS, Harold Cross is survived by his wife, Lydia Cross; his mother, Grace Dowey; his three sisters, Nancy (Craig) Smith, Betty Cross, and Mary (Bill) Siegler; several nieces and nephews; and many friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Harold Cross; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Harold Cross as a symbol of our sincere sympathy.
