SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3 learn of the death of Charles E. "Gene" Krause of Galesburg,
4 who passed away April 22, 2010; and
 
5     WHEREAS, He was born August 13, 1929, the son of Charles F.
6 and Edith Schadel Krause of Sun Prairie, Wisconsin; he married
7 Shirley Chisman on June 16, 1951, in Ottumwa, Iowa; and
 
8     WHEREAS, He graduated from Sun Prairie High School in Sun
9 Prairie, Wisconsin, and Simpson College in Indianola, Iowa; he
10 followed up with graduate work at the University of Iowa; and
 
11     WHEREAS, He taught high school English and dramatics at
12 Radcliffe, Iowa, and Mt. Vernon, Iowa, and was a longtime
13 teacher of those subjects in Galesburg District 205; and
 
14     WHEREAS, He was a member of the Kiwanis and the Knox County
15 Retired Teachers Association, and an honorary member of the
16 Knox College Fifty Year Club; he was a volunteer, teaching the
17 Rules of the Road class for many years for the State of
18 Illinois; he was past president of Galesburg Retired Teachers
19 and was on the Newman School Board; he also was a member of the
20 First United Methodist Church; and

1     WHEREAS, Charles E. "Gene" Krause is survived by his wife,
2 Shirley; his two sons, Charles F. "Rick" Krause and Paul (and
3 Charlotta) Krause; his daughter, Karen (and Michael) Carrigan;
4 his four grandchildren and his stepgrandson; therefore, be it
 
5     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL
6 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
7 his family and friends, the passing of Charles Krause; and be
8 it further
 
9     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
10 presented to the family of Charles Krause as a symbol of our
11 sincere sympathy.
