SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Ruben Delgado of Chicago, who passed away on June 12, 2010; and

WHEREAS, Ruben Delgado served as an advanced placement Spanish teacher at Morton East High School for the past 3 years; he was also accepted into a master's program in Spanish language at the Royal Academy of Languages in Salamanca, Spain; and

WHEREAS, In honor of Ruben Delgado and his goal of completing his master's degree, The Ruben Delgado Educational Leadership Fund has been established to honor his life and help young students to achieve their maximum potential; and

WHEREAS, Ruben Delgado is survived by his father, Illinois State Senator William Delgado; his mother, Iris; and his brother, Adam; and

WHEREAS, Ruben Delgado served as an inspiration to his loving family and the many students he mentored during his career; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Ruben Delgado; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Ruben Delgado as an expression of our sympathy.
