SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
430 ILCS 69/35-65 new

    Amends the Reimagine Public Safety Act. Requires the Office of Firearm Violence Prevention to conduct a study to assess and analyze any funds appropriated under the Act to implement the Act. Provides that the study shall consider how the monies appropriated have aided the communities, prevention services, and organizations who receive funding under this Act in preventing and reducing the amount of violence in the State. Allows the Office to collaborate with other State agencies or organizations that collect or retain data or statistics related to violence in the State. Requires the Office to submit a report of the study to the General Assembly within one year of the effective date of the amendatory Act.

1    AN ACT concerning safety.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 5. The Reimagine Public Safety Act is amended by
5adding Section 35-65 as follows:
 
6    (430 ILCS 69/35-65 new)
7    Sec. 35-65. Study of appropriated funds. The Office of
8Firearm Violence Prevention shall conduct a study to assess
9and analyze any funds appropriated under this Act to implement
10the provisions of this Act. The study shall consider how the
11monies appropriated have aided the communities, prevention
12services, and organizations who receive funding under this Act
13in preventing and reducing the amount of violence in the
14State. The Office of Firearm Violence Prevention may
15collaborate with other State agencies or organizations that
16collect or retain data or statistics related to violence in
17the State. The Office of Firearm Violence Prevention shall
18submit a report of the study to the General Assembly within one
19year of the effective date of this amendatory Act of the 103rd
20General Assembly.
