SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
730 ILCS 205/2-30

    Amends the No Representation Without Population Act. Provides that the demographic data of persons incarcerated in Department of Corrections facilities provided by the Department of Corrections to the State Board of Elections shall be used only as the basis for determining Legislative Districts, Representative Districts, and all local government districts that are based on population (rather than Legislative and Representative Districts).

1    AN ACT concerning criminal law.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 5. The No Representation Without Population Act is
5amended by changing Section 2-30 as follows:
 
6    (730 ILCS 205/2-30)
7    (This Section may contain text from a Public Act with a
8delayed effective date)
9    Sec. 2-30. Data; Legislative and Representative Districts.
10The data prepared by the State Board of Elections in Section
112-25 shall be used only as the basis for determining
12Legislative Districts, and Representative Districts, and all
13local government districts that are based on population.
14Residences at unknown geographic locations within the State
15under subsection (c) of Section 2-25 shall not be used to
16determine the ideal population of any set of districts, wards,
17or precincts. The data prepared by the State Board of
18Elections in Section 2-25 shall not be used in the
19distribution of any State or federal aid.
