SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of former Kendall County State's
4Attorney and Illinois GOP Chairman Dallas Ingemunson, who
5passed away on November 4, 2023; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Dallas Ingemunson was a public servant, mentor,
7advocate, husband, father, grandfather, coach, and friend; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Dallas Ingemunson was born to Clare and Dorothy
9Ingemunson in Sandwich on May 23, 1938; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Dallas Ingemunson's family also included his
11brother, Donald, and his sisters, Peg and Debbie; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Dallas Ingemunson graduated from Newark High
13School; he received an electrical engineering degree from the
14University of Illinois before graduating from the DePaul
15College of Law in 1965; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Dallas Ingemunson married his wife of 60 amazing
17years, Dodie Ingemunson, in Jacksonville in 1963, and they had
18three sons, Gregg Ingemunson, Kirk Ingemunson, and Boyd
19Ingemunson; and

1    WHEREAS, Dallas Ingemunson was named state's attorney by
2the Kendall County Board on the day his second son was born;
3and
 
4    WHEREAS, Dallas Ingemunson was elected and served six more
5terms as state's attorney, and he was a driving force in
6creating the State's Attorney Appellate Prosecutor Office; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Dallas Ingemunson was a leader in Illinois
8politics, serving as the chairman and treasurer of the
9Illinois Republican Party, as chairman of the Kendall County
10GOP, and as a mentor to many young public servants, including
11former Illinois House Minority Leader Tom Cross; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Dallas Ingemunson was an outstanding member of
13his suburban community, serving as a Boy Scouts volunteer,
14Little League coach, and chair of the Kendall County Plan
15Commission; he helped establish the local 911 emergency system
16and the Kendall County YMCA; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Dallas Ingemunson was a founding member of The
18Royal Order of Raccoons Fishing Team and proudly served as its
19Grand High Exalted Mystic Ruler; and
 
20    WHEREAS, When not in Kendall County or Camp Chin-Be-Gota,
21Dallas Ingemunson could be found chatting in the former Senate

1President's Office, playing a game of euchre at Norb Andy's in
2Springfield, watching the Chicago Cubs, the Chicago Bears, and
3the Fighting Illini sports teams, or attending any number of
4his children and grandchildren's athletic endeavors; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Dallas Ingemunson memory will live on through his
6ten grandchildren and many nieces and nephews; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Dallas Ingemunson was a dedicated public servant
8who was committed to defending the little guy and fighting for
9freedom and justice, making Illinois, and especially his home
10of Kendall County, a better, safer place to live; therefore,
11be it
 
12    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL
13ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
14Dallas Ingemunson and extend our sincere condolences to his
15family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
16further
 
17    RESOLVED, That we celebrate Dallas Ingemunson's legacy of
18caring deeply about his community and his devoted service to
19the greater good; and be it further
 
20    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
21presented to the family of Dallas Ingemunson as an expression
