| 1 | | SENATE RESOLUTION | 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | 3 | | to learn of the death of David N. "Dave" Baker of East Moline, | 4 | | who passed away on February 3, 2024; and | 5 | | WHEREAS, Dave Baker was born to Thurman and Charlotte | 6 | | Robbins Baker in Andersonville, Indiana on April 4, 1932; he | 7 | | married Dorothy A. Newkirk in Connersville, Indiana on | 8 | | November 3, 1956; he served in the U.S. Air Force during the | 9 | | Korean War, retiring as a major from the Air National Guard; | 10 | | and | 11 | | WHEREAS, Dave Baker worked as a transportation management | 12 | | specialist for the Rock Island Arsenal, retiring after 22 | 13 | | years of service; and | 14 | | WHEREAS, Dave Baker was a member of the Northcrest Calvary | 15 | | Baptist Church in Moline; and | 16 | | WHEREAS, Dave Baker was preceded in death by his parents; | 17 | | his brothers, Marion Baker and Irvin Baker; and his sister, | 18 | | Esther Emerson; and | 19 | | WHEREAS, Dave Baker is survived by his wife of 67 years, | 20 | | Dorothy "Dottie" Baker; his children, Gregory (fiancée, Diane |
