SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Charles Robert "Chuck" Maskel of Pekin, who passed away on December 8, 2024; and

WHEREAS, Chuck Maskel was born in Georgetown to Jess and Effie (Good) Maskel on June 6, 1928; he served in the U.S. Army; he married Leatha Mae Gray in Bloomington on May 21, 1949; and

WHEREAS, Chuck Maskel worked in the rod mill for Keystone Wire & Steel in Bartonville, retiring in 1982; and

WHEREAS, Chuck Maskel enjoyed fishing, camping, gardening, and reading western novels written by William Johnstone; and

WHEREAS, Chuck Maskel was preceded in death by his wife, Leatha; his parents; his granddaughter, Brandi Maskel; his sisters, Dorothy, Juanita, and Midge; his brothers, Frank, Clarence, and J.D.; and his sister-in-law, Mary Maskel; and

WHEREAS, Chuck Maskel is survived by his daughters, Juliann (Tom) Slicko and Dawn Maskel; his grandchildren, Brittany Maskel, Joshua (Hanna) Wagner, and Mallory Wagner; his great-grandchildren, Brooklyn Maskel, Breanna Maskel, Patience Toungett, Dayton Williams, Bentley Moore, Titan Moore, Joshua Wagner, and Charlotte Wagner; his brother, Bill Maskel; and numerous nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Charles Robert "Chuck" Maskel and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Chuck Maskel as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
