from Ch. 48, par. 8g

Amends the One Day Rest In Seven Act. Deletes language providing that a violation of the Act is a petty offense. Adds language providing that an employer who violates any of the provisions of the Act is subject to a civil penalty of not less than $25 nor more than $100 for each affected employee for each day that the violation continues.

A BILL FOR

AN ACT concerning employment.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The One Day Rest In Seven Act is amended by changing Section 7 as follows:

Sec. 7. Any employer who violates any of the provisions of this Act, shall be guilty of a petty offense, and shall be subject to a civil penalty fined for each offense in a sum of not less than $25 nor more than $100 for each affected employee for each day that the violation continues.
