SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:

215 ILCS 5/356z.22 new

Amends the Illinois Insurance Code. Provides that an insurer that issues, delivers, amends, or renews an individual or group policy of accident and health insurance in the State after the effective date of the Act may not recover any payments received by the insured from a policy of personal motor vehicle coverage. Effective immediately.

A BILL FOR

AN ACT concerning insurance.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The Illinois Insurance Code is amended by adding Section 356z.22 as follows:

(215 ILCS 5/356z.22 new)

Sec. 356z.22. Recovery of payments from policies of personal motor vehicle coverage. An insurer that issues, delivers, amends, or renews an individual or group policy of accident and health insurance in this State after the effective date of this amendatory Act of the 97th General Assembly may not recover any payments received by the insured from a policy of personal motor vehicle coverage.

Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon becoming law.
