SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:

215 ILCS 122/5-30 new

Amends the Illinois Health Benefits Exchange Law. Provides that in no case shall the authority for establishing, administering, or operating a State-based health benefit exchange in Illinois be based upon an executive order issued by the Governor of Illinois. Effective immediately.

A BILL FOR

AN ACT concerning insurance.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The Illinois Health Benefits Exchange Law is amended by adding Section 5-30 as follows:

(215 ILCS 122/5-30 new)

Sec. 5-30. Executive orders. In no case shall the authority for establishing, administering, or operating a State-based health benefit exchange in Illinois be based upon an executive order issued by the Governor of Illinois.

Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon becoming law.
