HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are pleased to congratulate Carole Peto of
4Elgin on receiving the Altrusa International Club of Elgin's
5Woman of the Year 2012 award; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Carole Peto's distinguished 35-year career as an
7educator and administrator with the U-46 School District and
8Bartlett High School has had an immeasurable impact on the
9lives of her students and her community; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Carole is a leader in her community, serving in
11numerous positions in Women Aglow International, Women of Grace
12and Dignity, Christ Community Church in St. Charles, and
13Harvest Christian Academy; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Through her work at U-46 and leading Bartlett High
15School's language arts department, Carole has demonstrated a
16commitment to literacy, a passion which extends to her personal
17life, where she hosts a weekly women's book discussion, has
18written a children's book "First Fruits", and her own memoir
19"On a Wing and a Prayer"; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Carole is a graduate of Illinois State University
21and Northern Illinois University; and

1    WHEREAS, Carole has enjoyed 42 years of marriage with her
2husband, Warren, with whom she has 3 children and 4
3grandchildren; and
 
4    WHEREAS, She will receive the award at the 63rd Annual
5Woman of the Year Recognition Dinner; therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
7NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
8we join the Altrusa International Club of Elgin and her
9grateful community in saluting the accomplishments of Carole
10Peto; we congratulate her on this honor, and wish her the best
11in her future endeavors; and be it further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to Carole Peto as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
