HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate Carole Peto of Elgin on receiving the Altrusa International Club of Elgin's Woman of the Year 2012 award; and

WHEREAS, Carole Peto's distinguished 35-year career as an educator and administrator with the U-46 School District and Bartlett High School has had an immeasurable impact on the lives of her students and her community; and

WHEREAS, Carole is a leader in her community, serving in numerous positions in Women Aglow International, Women of Grace and Dignity, Christ Community Church in St. Charles, and Harvest Christian Academy; and

WHEREAS, Through her work at U-46 and leading Bartlett High School's language arts department, Carole has demonstrated a commitment to literacy, a passion which extends to her personal life, where she hosts a weekly women's book discussion, has written a children's book "First Fruits", and her own memoir "On a Wing and a Prayer"; and

WHEREAS, Carole is a graduate of Illinois State University and Northern Illinois University; and

WHEREAS, Carole has enjoyed 42 years of marriage with her husband, Warren, with whom she has 3 children and 4 grandchildren; and

WHEREAS, She will receive the award at the 63rd Annual Woman of the Year Recognition Dinner; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we join the Altrusa International Club of Elgin and her grateful community in saluting the accomplishments of Carole Peto; we congratulate her on this honor, and wish her the best in her future endeavors; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Carole Peto as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
