HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, Director James O. Breen has been in the park and recreation profession for 38 years, 19 of those dedicated years acting as the Director of the St. Charles Park District; and

WHEREAS, Director Breen is a Certified Parks and Recreation Professional who has been involved in a variety of leadership roles in the community, including Board of Directors of the St. Charles Rotary Foundation, the Board of Directors of the St. Charles Convention and Visitor's Bureau, a committee member on the Design Committee of the Downtown St. Charles Partnership, Past President of the Rotary Club of St. Charles, the Downtown St. Charles Partnership, and the St. Charles United Way fund drive; and

WHEREAS, Under the direction of Director Breen, the St. Charles Park district has won numerous awards and recognitions, including the prestigious Gold Medal Award; and

WHEREAS, During Director Breen's service, several key additions took place in the St. Charles Park District, including the East Side Sports Complex, Primrose Farm Park, and the West Side Community Park that is now known as the James O. Breen Community Park; these additions increased recreation opportunities for the community, adding sports fields, a dog park, tennis courts, a nature center, and trails; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we wish Director James O. Breen well in his retirement and thank him for his many years of dedicated service to the St. Charles Park District and the surrounding community; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Director James O. Breen with our gratitude and esteem.
