1 HOUSE RESOLUTION

2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are pleased to congratulate the members of the
4 Montini Broncos girls basketball team on the occasion of
5 winning the IHSA Class 3A girls basketball State championship;
6 and

7     WHEREAS, The Montini Broncos defeated Vernon Hills 56-38 to
8 claim victory at the IHSA Class 3A girls basketball State
9 championship game at Redbird Arena in Bloomington; the team
10 ended the season with a phenomenal 33-5 record; and

11     WHEREAS, With this victory, the Montini Broncos became the
12 third girls sports team in State history to win three State
13 titles in a row; and

14     WHEREAS, The members of the Montini Broncos girls
15 basketball team are Angela Talley, Diamond Thompson, Jasmine
16 Lumpkin, Kateri Stone, Kelly Karlis, Kelsey Bogdan, Maggie
17 O'Brien, Malayna Johnson, Nia Flowers, Nikia Edom, Rainey
18 Kuykendall, Sara Ross, and Tianna Brown; the team's head coach
19 is Jason Nichols; and

20     WHEREAS, The members of the Montini Broncos girls
21 basketball team serve as models of hard work, integrity, and

1 dedication for the people of the State of Illinois; therefore,
2 be it

3     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
4 NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
5 we congratulate the members of the Montini Broncos girls
6 basketball team on the occasion of winning the IHSA Class 3A
7 girls basketball State championship and wish them continued
8 success and happiness in the future; and be it further

9     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
10 presented to the Montini Broncos girls basketball team as a
11 symbol of our esteem and respect.
