HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are pleased to commend and thank Dale and Rita
4Colee for their support of the Wounded Warrior Project; and
 
5    WHEREAS, The Wounded Warrior Project seeks to honor and
6empower wounded service members by offering unique, direct
7programs and services to meet the many needs of those service
8members that are injured in the course of their duties; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Dale and Rita Colee opened their pharmacy, "Dale's
10Southlake Pharmacy" in Decatur, in 2001; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Dale Colee and his daughter, Ericka, first heard
12of the Wounded Warrior Project at a convention they were
13attending in the summer of 2011; upon their return, they
14decided to become more involved in this cause; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Illinois State Representative Ron Stephens, an
16employee of the pharmacy, pledged to walk from Dale's Southlake
17Pharmacy to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Springfield to
18raise funds and awareness for the project; he also obtained
19pledges of $100 for every mile walked; and
 
20    WHEREAS, On Memorial Day 2012, Representative Stephens

1completed the 42-mile walk; together with Dale's Southlake
2Pharmacy, Illinois State Representative Jim Sacia, and
3Cardinal Distributers, over $13,000 was raised for the Wounded
4Warrior Project; and
 
5    WHEREAS, A check will be presented to the Wounded Warrior
6Project on July 10, 2012, at the Decatur Club in Decatur; Cindy
7Jo Parsons, mother of Sergeant Shane Parsons, a wounded soldier
8and benefactor of the project, will also be in attendance; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Dale and Rita Colee, as well as all who lend their
10support to the Wounded Warrior Project, serve as models of hard
11work, integrity, and dedication for the people of the State of
12Illinois; therefore, be it
 
13    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
14NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
15we commend and thank Dale and Rita Colee for their support of
16the Wounded Warrior Project and wish them continued success and
17happiness in the future; and be it further
 
18    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
19presented to Dale and Rita Colee as a symbol of our esteem and
20respect.
