HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are pleased to congratulate Peggy Frank on the
4occasion of her retirement as President and CEO of the
5Naperville Heritage Society and Naper Settlement in January of
62013; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Peggy Frank earned her associate's degree with
8honors in American history and recreation from Stephens College
9in Columbia, Missouri and her bachelor's degree in American
10history and library science from the University of Kentucky in
11Lexington; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Peggy Frank began her career with Naper Settlement
13(now Naperville Heritage Society and Naper Settlement) as the
14organization's Curator/Director in October of 1979; and
 
15    WHEREAS, As President and CEO, Peggy Frank has been
16instrumental in leading and transforming the organization from
17a small grassroots, volunteer-driven organization into a
18nationally-recognized, 12-acre museum complex with over 30
19structures and a $4 million operating budget; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Prior to her tenure with the Naperville Heritage
21Society and Naper Settlement, Peggy Frank served as the

1Assistant Curator of American Arts and Research for the
2Historical Society of Delaware from 1977 to 1978 and as Curator
3of the George Read II House for the Historical Society of
4Delaware from 1978 to 1979; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Peggy Frank has been a member of countless civic
6and professional organizations on the local, State, and
7national levels; she has also made many presentations and
8appeared on numerous panels for area community service groups,
9civic organizations, and other historical societies; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Following her retirement, Peggy Frank will
11continue to serve as the organization's President Emeritus and
12serve as a consultant for one year to assist in the transition
13with a new CEO; she also plans to remain an active supporter
14and promoter of the organization; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Peggy Frank serves as a model of hard work,
16integrity, and dedication for the people of the State of
17Illinois; therefore, be it
 
18    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
19NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
20we congratulate Peggy Frank on the occasion of her retirement
21as President and CEO of the Naperville Heritage Society and
22Naper Settlement and thank her for her 33 years of service to

1the organization; and be it further
 
2    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
3presented to Peggy Frank as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
