HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate Peggy Frank on the occasion of her retirement as President and CEO of the Naperville Heritage Society and Naper Settlement in January of 2013; and

WHEREAS, Peggy Frank earned her associate's degree with honors in American history and recreation from Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri and her bachelor's degree in American history and library science from the University of Kentucky in Lexington; and

WHEREAS, Peggy Frank began her career with Naper Settlement (now Naperville Heritage Society and Naper Settlement) as the organization's Curator/Director in October of 1979; and

WHEREAS, As President and CEO, Peggy Frank has been instrumental in leading and transforming the organization from a small grassroots, volunteer-driven organization into a nationally-recognized, 12-acre museum complex with over 30 structures and a $4 million operating budget; and

WHEREAS, Prior to her tenure with the Naperville Heritage Society and Naper Settlement, Peggy Frank served as the Assistant Curator of American Arts and Research for the Historical Society of Delaware from 1977 to 1978 and as Curator of the George Read II House for the Historical Society of Delaware from 1978 to 1979; and

WHEREAS, Peggy Frank has been a member of countless civic and professional organizations on the local, State, and national levels; she has also made many presentations and appeared on numerous panels for area community service groups, civic organizations, and other historical societies; and

WHEREAS, Following her retirement, Peggy Frank will continue to serve as the organization's President Emeritus and serve as a consultant for one year to assist in the transition with a new CEO; she also plans to remain an active supporter and promoter of the organization; and

WHEREAS, Peggy Frank serves as a model of hard work, integrity, and dedication for the people of the State of Illinois; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Peggy Frank on the occasion of her retirement as President and CEO of the Naperville Heritage Society and Naper Settlement and thank her for her 33 years of service to the organization; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Peggy Frank as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
