HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate James D. MacArthur, Fire Chief of the Itasca Fire Protection District No. 1, on his retirement; and

WHEREAS, He has served the Itasca Fire Protection District for the past eight years; prior to his service there he served with the Elk Grove Village Fire Department for thirty years, fifteen of thos years as the Chief; and

WHEREAS, He is a former President of the Illinois Fire Chiefs Association, the Metropolitan Fire Chiefs Association, and the Northeast Illinois Fire Chiefs Association; and

WHEREAS, He is currently a Director of the DuPage County Fire Chiefs Association and serves as a member of the DuPage County 9-1-1 Emergency Telephone System Board; and

WHEREAS, Chief MacArthur, along with other members of the Illinois Fire Fighter Life Service Task Force, went to New Orleans in 2005 to assist in relief efforts after the devastation of Hurricane Katrina; and

WHEREAS, Chief MacArthur's dedication and hard work have made Illinois a safer and better place; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Chief James MacArthur on his retirement and wish him all the best in his future endeavors; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to James MacArthur as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
