HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to honor Gregg T. Riddle on being a pioneer in Illinois 9-1-1 public safety communications for over 30 years; and

WHEREAS, Gregg T. Riddle was in the Elk Grove Fire Department from 1971 through 2000, where he rose to the rank of fire chief; he worked for the West Suburban Consolidated Dispatch Center from 2000 to 2008 as its first executive director; and

WHEREAS, Gregg Riddle has been a member of the Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials since 1981; he has held the positions of International Executive Council Representative, International 1st Vice President, International 2nd Vice President, International President, and most recently International Immediate Past President; in 2003, he was awarded the prestigious Association Life status; and

WHEREAS, During his career in public safety, Gregg Riddle has led the initiative for wireless 9-1-1 funding in the State, traveled nationwide and across the globe promoting public safety communications, helped pass D-Block and create the First Responder Network Authority (FirstNet), and instructed at Alexian Brothers Medical Center with its EMT program; he was certified in the State as a Fire Officer III, Fire Prevention Officer II, and as a licensed paramedic; he was instrumental in building the Elk Grove FD Station 8 and renovating the Elk Grove FD Administration Center; and

WHEREAS, Gregg Riddle graduated from Harper Community College with an associate of arts in fire science in 1976 and graduated from Northern Illinois University with a bachelor of science in biology and chemistry with a secondary certificate in 1971; and

WHEREAS, Gregg Riddle is married to Shay; they are the parents of Scott and Bradley and in-laws to Jennifer; he enjoys golfing and fishing; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we honor Gregg Riddle on his over 30 year career in public safety communications; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Gregg Riddle.
