HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are pleased to congratulate Thomas P. Borchert
4on his retirement as City Manager of the City of Elmhurst; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Thomas Borchert began his career with the City of
6Elmhurst in 1971, when he served as the Assistant Director of
7Public Works; he became the Director of Public Works in 1973,
8and the Assistant City Manager in 1981; in March of 1984 he
9became the City Manager; and
 
10    WHEREAS, He is a Credentialed Manager and a registered
11Professional Engineer with the State of Illinois; and
 
12    WHEREAS, He received his Bachelor of Science degree in
13Civil Engineering at Valparaiso University and completed
14additional course work at Northwestern University, Midwest
15College of Engineering, the College of DuPage, ICMA University,
16and attended CEU workshops; and
 
17    WHEREAS, He has served on numerous boards and agencies,
18including the International City Management Association, the
19Metropolitan Section of the Illinois City Management
20Association, the Elmhurst Chamber of Commerce, the DuPage
21Mayors and Managers Conference, and the Elmhurst City Centre;

2    WHEREAS, He has served as Director on DuPage Communications
3Board, Board Director of the Community Bank of Elmhurst, past
4member of the Young Life Committee of Eastern DuPage, and as a
5member and Elder of the Yorkfield Presbyterian Church in
6Elmhurst; therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
8NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
9we congratulate Thomas Borchert on his retirement and wish him
10the best in all his future endeavors; and be it further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to Thomas Borchert as a symbol of our respect and
13esteem.
