HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate Tucker Nevel on the occasion of attaining the coveted rank of Eagle Scout; and

WHEREAS, He will receive the rank of Eagle Scout at an Eagle Scout Court of Honor on April 23, 2011 with his parents, Marty and Laura Nevel, beside him; and

WHEREAS, Tucker Nevel has been scouting for 10 years; he went through the ranks of Tiger, Bear, Wolf, Webelos I, and Webelos II while in Cub Scouts; and

WHEREAS, During his tenure with the Boy Scouts, Tucker Nevel went through the ranks of Tenderfoot, 2nd Class, First Class, Star Scout, Life Scout, and finally Eagle Scout; and

WHEREAS, Tucker Nevel was an Ordeal member of the Order of the Arrow, the Boy Scout Honor Society, and is now in the rank of Brotherhood; and

WHEREAS, Tucker Nevel holds the position of Lodge Vice Chief within the Order of the Arrow Honor Society; he has been awarded 24 Merit Badges, including 12 Eagle required badges for his service to the community; and

WHEREAS, To achieve the rank of Eagle Scout, Tucker Nevel spent over 200 hours collecting, boxing, loading, unloading, and stocking the Schaumburg Food Pantry with the equivalent of a half semi trailer filled with pantry necessities to feed and help the neediest people of the community; along the way to completing his goal, Tucker communicated and led his team with the skills he learned from his family and his scouting career; and

WHEREAS, Tucker Nevel serves as a model of hard work, integrity, and dedication for the people of the State of Illinois; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Tucker Nevel on the occasion of attaining the coveted rank of Eagle Scout and wish him continued success and happiness in the future; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Tucker Nevel as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
