HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, Memorial Medical Center in Woodstock and Northern Illinois Medical Center in McHenry joined forces in 1995 to improve the health care delivery services in the greater McHenry County area to become Centegra Health System; and

WHEREAS, Centegra Health System is comprised of nearly 4,000 talented staff and 500 committed volunteers offering a wide range of services and is the community's largest employer; and

WHEREAS, Centegra Health System has been highly ranked as a great place to work by Modern Healthcare Magazine; and

WHEREAS, Centegra Hospital-McHenry and Centegra Hospital-Woodstock achieved the 2011 Patient Safety Excellence Award which recognizes hospitals performing in the top 5% nationally, being among only 12 Illinois hospitals to receive this safety award; and

WHEREAS, Centegra Oncology Services at Centegra Hospital-McHenry and Centegra Hospital-Woodstock were among only 6 organizations in Illinois to receive the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer 2010 Outstanding Achievement Award recognizing cancer programs that strive for excellence in providing quality care to cancer patients; and

WHEREAS, Centegra Hospital-McHenry and Centegra Hospital-Woodstock became Designated Blue Distinction Centers for Spine Surgery based on certain selection criteria for demonstrating reliability in delivering spine surgery services as well as better overall outcomes while maintaining Blue Distinction Center for Total Joint Replacements at both hospitals; and

WHEREAS, Centegra Health System has been ranked as one of the best nationwide by Modern Healthcare Magazine, Thomson Reuters, and HealthGrades, all in evaluations and service; and

WHEREAS, Most recently, U.S. News & World Report's list of Best Metropolitan Hospitals included Centegra Hospital-Woodstock; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we recognize the past and ongoing contributions of the staff and volunteers of the Centegra Health System to improve the health and wellness for the greater McHenry County region; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to a representative of Centegra Health System, as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
