HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are pleased to congratulate the Association
4for Individual Development on serving the people of the State
5of Illinois for 50 years; and
 
6    WHEREAS, In 1961, the Association for Individual
7Development opened its doors to 8 children with disabilities;
8for 50 years the Association for Individual Development has
9provided services to individuals who have developmental,
10physical and/or mental disabilities, those who have suffered a
11trauma, and those at risk; and
 
12    WHEREAS, All of the Association's clients have access to
13vital, life enriching services through early intervention;
14developmental therapy; respite care; permanent, affordable
15housing; developmental and vocational training; job placement
16and on-the-job coaching services; crisis intervention; victims
17services; mental health treatment; behavioral intervention;
18community education; and advocacy; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Serving more than 5,400 clients in 20 programs
20operating in 45 communities, AID is a leading provider of
21services that address the unique needs of individuals
22throughout every stage of their lives; a person-centered

1approach coupled with innovative practices ensures the highest
2level of accomplishment; and
 
3    WHEREAS, AID was officially incorporated on June 19, 1961
4and will have celebrations at 3 of its major locations on June
515, 2011; therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
7NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
8we congratulate the Association for Individual Development on
9its anniversary and wish it continued success for years to
10come; and be it further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to the Association for Individual Development as a
13symbol of our respect and esteem.
