HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate Randy Earl, co-owner of Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Homes of Decatur, on being elected and installed as the president-elect of the National Funeral Directors Association; and

WHEREAS, He was elected and installed during the 2010 National Funeral Directors Association International Convention and Expo, held in October of 2010; and

WHEREAS, His duties include: serving and assisting the Association president, presiding over the National Funeral Directors Association Executive Board, the Policy Board, the House of Delegates, the International Convention and Expo, the Leadership Conference, and the Advocacy Summit in the president's absence; he will represent the National Funeral Directors Association and its mission at State funeral conventions, and will serve on committees and subcommittees; and

WHEREAS, Randy Earl has been a licensed funeral director for more than 40 years; he has served as the secretary, vice-president, and president of the Illinois Funeral Directors Association in the past; and

WHEREAS, With the National Funeral Directors Association, he has held the positions of at-large representative, secretary, and treasurer on the Executive Board, and was the Illinois representative to the National Funeral Directors Association Policy Board; and

WHEREAS, In addition, Randy Earl has served in offices with the International Order of the Golden Rule and the Board of the Funeral Service Credit Union; he has also served with the American Cancer Society, and received the St. George Medal of Honor in 2008, the highest award presented to a volunteer by the American Cancer Society; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Randy Earl on being elected as president-elect of the National Funeral Directors Association and wish him all the best in his future endeavors; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Randy Earl as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
