HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate Judy Farney of Urbana on her retirement from teaching at St. Thomas School in Philo; and

WHEREAS, She was born April 2, 1950, in Chicago; she graduated from Mt. Assisi Academy in Lemont in 1968 and from Eastern Illinois University in 1972; and

WHEREAS, She began teaching in the Homer Community Consolidated School District in the early 1970s teaching junior high school language arts; she owned and operated J'N'J Donuts in Homer from 1981 to 1985; she returned to teaching at St. Thomas School in Philo in 1989, teaching all subjects; and

WHEREAS, She was married to James E. Farney until his passing in 2000; she has 2 sons, John (wife, Stephanie) and Nick; a daughter, Jessica (husband, Ray) Heitner; and 3 grandchildren, Nathaniel, Paige, and Piper; and

WHEREAS, In her retirement she plans to garden, travel, and spend time with her family; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Judy Farney on her retirement and wish her the best in her future endeavors; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Judy Farney as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
