HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate Frank Panno on his 50th anniversary as Alderman for the City of Pontiac; and

WHEREAS, He served in the United States Air Force from 1951 to 1953; and

WHEREAS, On May 3, 1961, Frank Panno first took his seat on the Pontiac City Council; he was re-elected April 5, 2011 as a city alderman; and

WHEREAS, He was living on the north side of Pontiac in 1961 and kept bugging the gentleman then on the council about what the city was going to do about the water problem; the man suggested that he run for a vacant seat on the council; and

WHEREAS, In 50 years of service, he has seen a lot of changes to the city, including the building of the new sewer plant; and

WHEREAS, He credits then Senator Bill Harris and Representative Tom Ewing for helping with the sewer plant; and

WHEREAS, He was presented with a plant that marked his 50 years at a recent City Council meeting; and

WHEREAS, He is the proud father of 8 children; and the loving grandfather of 12 grandchildren; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Frank Panno on his anniversary and thank him for his years of service to the people of Pontiac; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Frank Panno as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
