HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate Captain Dan Roach on his retirement from the Illinois State Police; and

WHEREAS, He received his education from Northern Illinois University, St. Ambrose University, and the FBI National Academy; and

WHEREAS, Over the course of his service in the Illinois State Police he has received the Supervisors' Award, the Director's Award for Merit, the Illinois MEG Directors' Award, the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration Award for Merit, the District 7 Officer of the Year Award, the FBI Award Certificate, the U.S. Attorney's Award Certificate, and many others; and

WHEREAS, His specialized duties with the Illinois State Police over the years have included: serving as a Field Training Agent, a Defensive Tactics Instructor, an Illinois State Police Academy Instructor, and many others; and

WHEREAS, His last position was serving as the Zone 3 Commander, which comprises 3 Illinois State Police districts and 9 counties; and

WHEREAS, Captain Roach is married to Tammy and they have 2 children, Maggie and Nathan; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Captain Dan Roach on his retirement and thank him for his years of service to the people of the State of Illinois; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Captain Dan Roach as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
