HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of John Debevic of Buckner, who passed away on January 9, 2011; and

WHEREAS, John Debevic was born on October 6, 1938, in Waukegan; he was the son of Frank and Emelia (Harding) Debevic; he married Kathleen (Chamernick) Debevic on April 28, 1962; and

WHEREAS, John Debevic served as chief of the Lake Villa Police Department for 24 years; he also worked for the Waukegan Police Department for 8 years and the Highland Police Department for 2 years; and

WHEREAS, John Debevic enjoyed camping and fishing; and

WHEREAS, John Debevic was preceded in death by his parents; and

WHEREAS, John Debevic is survived by his wife, Kathleen; his children, Barbara Peterson and John and Paula Debevic; his grandchildren, Andrew Peterson, Brittany Peterson, Brandyn Debevic, and Jacob Debevic; his great-granddaughter, Irelyn Picou; his brother and sister-in-law, Frank and Janis Debevic; and his many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of John Debevic; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of John Debevic as an expression of our sympathy.
