HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate the St. Edward School boys football team, the Big Red, on winning the Northwest Catholic Conference Championship; and

WHEREAS, The Big Red finished the season with a record of 7-1; and

WHEREAS, The team beat St. Juliana 16-0 in the playoff game and Immaculate Conception 26-7 in the championship game; and

WHEREAS, It was the first time since 1981 that St. Edward had won the Northwest Catholic Conference Championship; and

WHEREAS, The Head Coach is Michael Kelly; the Assistant Coaches are: Kevin Pietruszka, Chris Cusack, Eric Beck, and Joe Kelly; and

WHEREAS, The members of the team are: Sam Asplund, Jack Loper, Jayson Nowak, Matt Scanlan, Collin Bergin, Jonah Isaac, Dylan Gilbert, Edgardo Jove, Connor McDermott, Connor Callahan, Daniel Salgado, Jacob Whiting, Cole Kerins, Reis O'Donnell, Liam Mulcrone, Jared Whiting, Frank Doherty, Omaar Mendez, Noah Gilbert, Jack Carasotti, Nathaniel Segura, Jack O'Callaghan, and Pat Lavey; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate the St. Edward School football team on an impressive season and its championship victory; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the St. Edwards School football team.
