HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate the members of the Illini Central boys basketball team for their wonderful season; and

WHEREAS, After starting the season with a 3-10 record, with 6 straight losses, the Illini Central boys basketball team made a complete turnaround, winning 15 of the last 18 games of the season; during those games, Illini Central outscored its opponents by an average of 16 points; and

WHEREAS, During the season, the Illini Central boys basketball team won the Tomahawk Conference Championship, the Illini Central Regional, the Ridgeview Sectional, and the Illinois State University Supersectional; the team finished the season by winning the 3rd place game at Carver Arena in Peoria after losing in the Final Four semifinal game by one point; in total, the team went 6-1 during the State Tournament Series and outscored its opponents by an average of 13 points per game; and

WHEREAS, The members of the Illini Central boys basketball team are Derrick Himmel, Jesse Thompson, Ean Albers, Grant Bale, Jordan Bradshaw, Jared Entwistle, Noah Kirby, Connor Martin, Duncan McClure, Justin Onken, Zach Harman, Seth Kirby, and Dylan List; the team's head coach is John Giesler and the assistant coaches are Scott Francis and Tony Wherley; and

WHEREAS, The members of the Illini Central boys basketball team serve as models of hard work, integrity, and dedication for the people of the State of Illinois; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate the members of the Illini Central boys basketball team for their wonderful season and wish them continued success and happiness in the future; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the Illini Central boys basketball team as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
