HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate Jerry O'Leary on his retirement as the Director of Energy for the United Association of Plumbers and Pipefitters; and

WHEREAS, In September of 1965, he was selected into Local 25 of the United Association of Plumbers and Pipefitter's Apprenticeship Program; he completed the program in September of 1970; and

WHEREAS, In 1979, he was elected as Business Manager of Local 25 and served until 1991; he also serves as Chairman of the Local 25 Journeyman Apprenticeship Training Committee and Trustee for the Local 25 Health and Welfare/Pension Committee; and

WHEREAS,In 1980, he was elected the Administrator for Local 25 Health and Welfare/Pension Funds; he was the President of Tri City Building Trades; and the Vice President of the Quad City Federation of Labor; and

WHEREAS, In 1991, he was elected the International Representative for the United Association of Plumbers and Pipefitters at the United Association Convention; in 1992, he was assigned the states of Ohio and Indiana and served in that capacity until 2006; and

WHEREAS, From 2007 until 2012, he was appointed the Director of Energy by the General President of the United Association of Plumbers and Pipefitters; and

WHEREAS, He will enjoy retirement with his wife, Julie, his 2 daughters, and 3 grandchildren; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Jerry O'Leary on his retirement and wish him the best in all his future endeavors; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Jerry O'Leary as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
