HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are pleased to congratulate Jerry O'Leary on
4his retirement as the Director of Energy for the United
5Association of Plumbers and Pipefitters; and
 
6    WHEREAS, In September of 1965, he was selected into Local
725 of the United Association of Plumbers and Pipefitter's
8Apprenticeship Program; he completed the program in September
9of 1970; and
 
10    WHEREAS, In 1979, he was elected as Business Manager of
11Local 25 and served until 1991; he also serves as Chairman of
12the Local 25 Journeyman Apprenticeship Training Committee and
13Trustee for the Local 25 Health and Welfare/Pension Committee;
14and
 
15    WHEREAS,In 1980, he was elected the Administrator for Local
1625 Health and Welfare/Pension Funds; he was the President of
17Tri City Building Trades; and the Vice President of the Quad
18City Federation of Labor; and
 
19    WHEREAS, In 1991, he was elected the International
20Representative for the United Association of Plumbers and
21Pipefitters at the United Association Convention; in 1992, he

1was assigned the states of Ohio and Indiana and served in that
2capacity until 2006; and
 
3    WHEREAS, From 2007 until 2012, he was appointed the
4Director of Energy by the General President of the United
5Association of Plumbers and Pipefitters; and
 
6    WHEREAS, He will enjoy retirement with his wife, Julie, his
72 daughters, and 3 grandchildren; therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
9NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
10we congratulate Jerry O'Leary on his retirement and wish him
11the best in all his future endeavors; and be it further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to Jerry O'Leary as a symbol of our respect and
14esteem.
