HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate the members of the Villa Grove Devilettes dance team on the occasion of winning the IDTA State Championship; and

WHEREAS, The Villa Grove Devilettes began their season with a first place victory at Charleston High School on January 14, 2012; despite their tough competition, the team emerged victorious from the IDTA State Championship at the University of Illinois Assembly Hall on March 17, 2012; and

WHEREAS, The Villa Grove Devilettes' victory marks the first ever State Championship for the dance team; it is also only the second-ever State championship that Villa Grove High School has ever won, the last being from the basketball team in 1923; and

WHEREAS, The members of the Villa Grove Devilettes dance team are Katina Clodfelder, Celeste Cler, Hunter Hettinger, Sara Tondini, Sarah Showalter, Ashlee Turner, Carly Bushell, Hannah Alvis, Bryanna Broady, Taylor Quinn, Keyaira Bielert, and Cory Tibbetts; the team's coach is Alyssa Hudson; and

WHEREAS, The members of the Villa Grove Devilettes dance team serve as models of hard work, integrity, and dedication for the people of the State of Illinois; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate the members of the Villa Grove Devilettes dance team on the occasion of winning the IDTA State Championship and wish them continued success and happiness in the future; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the Villa Grove Devilettes dance team as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
