HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate Bob Swanson on his retirement as Athletic Director of Rock Island High School; and

WHEREAS, Bob Swanson was appointed District 41 Director of Athletics in July of 1998; and

WHEREAS, He is a native of Monmouth; he received his Bachelors degree in Communications and Political Science and his Masters Degree in Communications from Western Illinois University; in 1985, he received his Juris Doctor Degree, Magna Cum Laude, from Northern Illinois University College of Law; and

WHEREAS, He has a background in teaching, coaching, business, management, and law; he was selected Division 4 "Athletic Director of the Year" for 2006-2007 by the Illinois Athletic Directors Association; and

WHEREAS, As Athletic Director, he supervises all athletic teams, coaches, equipment, and facilities; he is also responsible for student-athlete academic programs including supervised athletic study table and weekly and semester IHSA student academic eligibility checks; and

WHEREAS, He will enjoy his retirement along with his wife, Debra; and his children, Angela and Jennifer; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Bob Swanson on his retirement and wish him well in his future endeavors; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Bob Swanson as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
