| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Robert Denver "Denny" Brewer of Herrin, | 4 | | who passed away on March 10, 2012; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, He was born December 6, 1946, in Herrin, the son | 6 | | of Robert N. and Billie (Childers) Brewer; he married Juli | 7 | | Maragni on June 9, 1991, in Miami; and
| 8 | | WHEREAS, He started working for his father at the age of 9, | 9 | | washing dishes while standing on a milk crate at New Era Dairy; | 10 | | he continued working for his father his entire adult life; | 11 | | together, they opened restaurants (Family Fun, Prime Time, | 12 | | Shenanigan's) and built Best Inns Motels Corporation; he | 13 | | immortalized his father's legacy by forming the Robert N. | 14 | | Brewer Family Foundation; although neither achieved higher | 15 | | than a high school education, they enabled more than 434 | 16 | | students the opportunity to obtain college degrees; and
| 17 | | WHEREAS, He was a Master Mason and very proud of his | 18 | | accomplishment; he enjoyed hunting and spending time outdoors; | 19 | | he especially enjoyed talking about cars and hot rods with his | 20 | | brother, Dan, and his good friends LeRoy, Shane, Shawn, Buddy, | 21 | | and other gearheads; in recent years, Denver spent time | 22 | | enjoying the solitude of country life, rescuing needy animals |

| 2 | | WHEREAS, Robert Brewer is survived by his wife, Juli | 3 | | Brewer; his son, Robert Dwight Brewer; his daughter, Dawn | 4 | | Heather Brewer; his son, Forrest Lee Simmons; his | 5 | | grandchildren, Christopher Brewer, Madison Brewer, and Morgan | 6 | | Brewer; his brother, Dan N. Brewer and his fiancee Jane Jones; | 7 | | his sister, Marie Delaney; and his multiple four-footed, furry | 8 | | children; therefore, be it
| 9 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL | 10 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with | 11 | | his family and friends, the passing of Robert Brewer; and be it | 12 | | further
| 13 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 14 | | presented to the family of Robert Brewer as a symbol of our | 15 | | sincere sympathy.
