SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are deeply saddened to learn of the death of Elisabeth H. Gustafson (nee Hardin) of Western Springs, who passed away on November 11, 2012; and

WHEREAS, Elisabeth Gustafson was born in Chicago; she was a graduate of Beloit College in Beloit, Wisconsin, and a member of the Pi Beta Phi Sorority; and

WHEREAS, Elisabeth Gustafson taught at LaGrange High School for 27 years; she relished her role as a teacher who could inspire her students to learn, believe, and soar in their own capabilities; and

WHEREAS, Elisabeth Gustafson reveled in the power of music and seldom missed concerts in which her friends played; she enjoyed devoting time and serving her church; and

WHEREAS, Elisabeth Gustafson was preceded in death by her mother, Mildred Hardin; and

WHEREAS, Elisabeth Gustafson is survived by her children, John Gustafson, Beth Gustafson, Jean (Tim) O'Sullivan, and Anne Cannavino; and her grandchildren, Kristen and Sarah Cannavino and Matthew, Jack, and Meghan O'Sullivan; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Elisabeth Gustafson, and we extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Elisabeth Gustafson as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
