SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are deeply saddened to learn of the death of Orville St. Peter "Pat" Clavey of Waukegan, who passed away on November 20, 2012; and

WHEREAS, Orville "Pat" Clavey was born on October 3, 1932, in Deerfield to Harry and Marion Clavey; he married Joan Tessman on May 11, 1957, in St. Anastasia Church in Waukegan; he served with the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War and had been attached to the First Marine Division; and

WHEREAS, Orville "Pat" Clavey was the coroner and sheriff of Lake County; after his career in law enforcement, he began USA Janitorial Service in Gurnee, which he owned until his retirement in 2000; and

WHEREAS, Orville "Pat" Clavey was a member of Gurnee Community Church, past commander of and 50 year member of the Gurnee American Legion #771, and member of Zion-Benton Moose Lodge #1027; he was a graduate of Brean Bible School and loved reading the bible, which he did every morning and night; he enjoyed making various objects out of toothpicks such as houses, motorcycles, boats, and trains; and

WHEREAS, Orville "Pat" Clavey was preceded in death by his son, Glen and his parents, Harry and Marion Clavey; and

WHEREAS, Orville "Pat" Clavey is survived by his wife of 55 years, Joan; his daughter, Jean (David) Hengesh; his son George Clavey; his grandchildren, Christina Clavey and Daniel and Kimberly Hengesh; his nieces and nephews, Susan (Steve), Jennifer (Robert), James (Evie), Jeffrey (Mayed), John Wicks, and John and David Beemsterboer; his brother, Harry "Ted" (Lorraine) Clavey; his sisters, Alyce (Joseph) Beemsterboer and Geraldine (Gerald) Wicks; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Orville "Pat" Clavey, and we extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Orville "Pat" Clavey as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
