SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Joliet Police Officer James B. "Geta" Dietz of Joliet, who passed away on February 22, 2011; and

WHEREAS, He was born in Chicago and raised in Bolingbrook and was a Joliet resident for the past 16 years; and

WHEREAS, He was a dedicated City of Joliet Police Officer for the past 16 years; and

WHEREAS, He loved spending time with his family and friends, especially when he had the chance to go fishing or bowling; and

WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his mother, Joanne Dietz; and his brother, David Dietz; and

WHEREAS, James Dietz is survived by his beloved fiancee, Jessie Reiter; his father, Charles Dietz; his brothers, Charles (Joanie) Dietz and Michael Dietz; his sisters, Lorie (David) Barrett, Susan (Christopher) Martens, and Tracy (Luke) Capocy; his numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and his faithful canine companion, Duke; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family, friends, and the citizens of Joliet, the passing of Officer James Dietz; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Officer James B. "Geta" Dietz as a symbol of our sincere sympathy.
